Boost Your Body, Raise Your Confidence
Breast Lifts
Are you unhappy with the way your breasts sag and droop? A Breast Lift can help reshape and lift your breasts to give them a more youthful appearance.
Bring It Up
A Breast Lift, also known as a Mastopexy Procedure, raises and reshapes sagging breasts due to weight loss and aging. This surgery can restore the youthful appearance of your chest by restoring the natural contour. A combination of skin tightening, repositioning of existing tissue, and the addition of implants, if desired, will create a more youthful and perky appearance.
Benefits of Breast Lift
- There are many benefits to a Breast Lift:
- Boosts your confidence
- Helps clothing fit better
- Reduces discomfort when wearing bras or clothing with tight straps
- Improves breast volume and breast contour
- Eliminates extra skin
What Types of Breast Lifts Are Available?
There are several types of Breast Lift procedures depending on your unique needs.
Breast Lift with No Implant
This procedure lifts the breasts and can be done with or without an implant. It involves removing excess skin, reshaping, and lifting the breast tissue.
Breast Lift with Augmentation or Implant for the First Time
During this procedure, an implant is placed to provide additional volume and fullness. This allows for a more natural look and improved shape of the breasts.
Breast Lift with Implant Exchange
This procedure involves replacing current implants with new ones of a different size, shape or consistency such as saline or silicone based on your aesthetic goals. In addition to new implants, a lift procedure is performed which will remove excess skin, pull together and reshape existing breast tissue, and sometimes adjust nipple placement to allow the new implants to sit in a more youthful and natural position on your chest.
What Should You Expect From Breast Lifts?
During the surgery, your plastic surgeon will make incisions horizontally along the breast crease as well as vertically from the bottom portion of the areola down to the breast crease. this will allow for reshaping and elevation of breast tissue in addition to removing sagging skin. Sometimes to achieve the best results, the nipple and areola need to be moved higher up on the breast tissue. In this case, an incision will also be made in a circle around the areola to allow for optimal positioning.
Incision and Location Options
The incision location and size depend on the type of implants being used, as well as your body shape. At BCSG, our most common approach is inframammary incisions. This incision is made in the breast fold, creating a scar that’s nearly invisible after healing. Incisions are commonly made on the undersurface of the breast and are hidden in the natural fold.
Types of Breast Lift Incisions
Lollipop Incision
The lollipop incision goes around the areola and extends inferiorly down the middle of the breast.
Anchor Incision
The Anchor Incision is very similar to the lollipop incision but adds the addition of a curved incision under the breast fold. We use this incision for patients who have a longer distance from their areola to their breast crease.
Donut/Crescent Incision
This incision goes around the areola and does not extend down onto the the breast tissue.

After the consultation with your surgeon, you’ll be able to plan for your surgery. On the day of your surgery, you will:
Meet with your surgeon to discuss any final questions or concerns.
Receive general anesthesia for comfort during the procedure.
Undergo the implant placement procedure, which typically takes around two hours.
Spend time in recovery before being released from our facility.
Everything You Need to Know About Recovery
Following a Breast Lift, you may experience some discomfort and swelling for several days. Patients always ask about showering. All of our cosmetic surgery patients are seen the very next day in our office no matter the procedure (not skin cancer). So we could add that in the service sections they will see Dr. Bashore the very next day at which time further instructions about activity and showering will be given. Usually, most surgical patients can shower 24 hours after surgery and will be given clearance to do so the afternoon after their follow-up appointment. You should also avoid strenuous activities and wear an appropriate surgical bra until your breasts have healed completely in order to achieve optimal results.
Who Makes a Good Candidate?
A good candidate for a Breast Lift is someone who has sagging or asymmetrical breasts, is in overall good health, and does not have any underlying medical conditions that would prevent them from undergoing surgery. It’s important to discuss your expectations with Dr. Bashore before committing to the procedure.
